Questions
How do I set the trap?
Tap Choose Bait and pick the photos or videos you want to show, or share them to Mousetrap from any app (in the share sheet, tap Mousetrap). Then tap Set the Trap and hand over your phone. If they swipe past what you picked, they get a selfie of their own nosy face.
They swiped past, but there's no selfie, just 👀
Mousetrap needs camera access to take the selfie. Open the Settings app, tap Apps, then Mousetrap, and turn on Camera. You can also check every permission at once in Mousetrap: tap the gear, then Review Permissions.
How do I close the viewer?
Tap the back button or swipe down on the photo, then use your Face ID, Touch ID or passcode. If you'd rather not need it, turn off "Require Face ID to exit" in Mousetrap's settings.
Can I stop them leaving the app altogether?
iOS doesn't let apps block the Home gesture, but Guided Access can. Turn it on in Settings › Accessibility › Guided Access. Then, with the viewer open, triple-click the side button to start it.
Mousetrap isn't in the share sheet
In the share sheet, scroll the row of apps to the end and tap More, then turn on Mousetrap. You can share up to 30 photos and videos at once.
Sharing says "Open Mousetrap to show them"
Your photos are ready and waiting: open Mousetrap and they'll be on the trap.
The place next to the time is missing
A photo only shows a place if it was saved with one. For the selfie's place, Mousetrap needs location access: check it under Review Permissions in Mousetrap's settings. You can turn places off with Show location.
Where do the selfies go?
Nowhere, unless you choose. They stay in memory until you close the Busted screen, so tap Save to Photos or Share to keep them. Mousetrap never uploads anything. See the privacy policy.
Can I change "You" above the selfie, or show something else?
Yes. In Mousetrap's settings, change the title on the surprise, show a custom image instead of a selfie, or stop them swiping past your photos at all.
